Once again a movie that after seeing the trailers for...looked like it could be something fairly enjoyable.It featured 2 up and coming hotties(Julianna Guill,yes the amazing girl from F 13 2009 and Jessica 90201,Autopsy Lowndes) and what looked like some unique Creature with tentacles pulling a small plane towards it.It sounded good until actually watching or struggling to watch the movie.

The Plot: Rookie pilot Sara(Lowndes) decides to test out her newly minted flying skills by taking her friends to the coldplay concert.Rookie pilot...I'm sure you guessed something was going to go wrong fairly soon and it does as the planes instruments malfunction and mechanical failures ensues slightly after they enter a mysterious cloud-bank.Unable to communicate with anyone through radar, Sara and her friends are left stranded ..flying through an endless mist.But they are not alone....there is some kind of creature with them
The Good:Sara(Lowndes) and Mel(Guill) do a decent job with a horrible script and some of the dialogue left me embarrassed. I actually liked both of their characters and with this script the fact that they came off likable is an attribute to them.

The creature,for the small glimpses we get of it..it looked really cool and unique,too bad we barely see it.

The Bad:Every character besides Lowndes and Guill I absolutely despised and all made such idiotic choices even I was left shaking my head.To top it off I don't know who was worse between Bruce(Sara's love interest..or so we think) and jock,resident big mouth Sal(Jake Weary).I couldn't wait for both of them to bite the bullet.Bruce(played by Landon Liboiron) was so unbelievable it was cringe-worthy and that dumb,confused look on his face half the film didn't help either.Someone get this kid some acting lessons.
The fact that the creature was barely in the movie made things even worse,I wonder why the creature was in it at all,Maybe just for the trailers to brew up interest.

The ugly: I get that this is sci-fi and I'm not one to get on films for being too unbelievable but come on.....tying a rope around someone at 20000 feet to go outside and fix the tail of a plane..really?really? really?...They should have done anything possible to not include that part in the movie.
The Twist....once again...really?really?

Closing:What seemed like a cool direct to dvd movie is actually complete garbage not even worth a rental.Watch the trailer,at least that was enjoyable and you save yourself an hour and 20 minutes of the day.

Quick Review:Jason goes to Hell(1993)

The 9th installment of the series and I guess we should have expected something different,and boy did we get something different,in a bizarre way(and not a good way in my book)

The plot:Jason is blown into pieces and thought to be dead finally,but of course we know better.We then learn that Jason can only be killed by a member of his own..Voorhees family.But who would want that job?.To top things off since Jason wasn't killed by a Voorhees family member at the beginning,he is still alive and better yet..he can transfer his evil over to someone else's body and disguise himself as that person.No way!!!

The bad:I never knew who the main character was until about 40 mins in and then it turns out to be some nerdy guy who thinks he's tough and can stop Jason.
Not enough Jason,he's really not on screen all that much and at this point in the series it couldn't have hurt to put more Jason in the movie.People want to see Jason kill and rip people apart,not some nerdy douche trying to be tough.
The pace..the opening is great but aside from that...it's just really boring and slow...and like I said earlier,not enough Jason.

The good:Nice amount of gore, blood and heart eating plus a sweet scene involving a girl getting ripped apart while she has sex.Did I see an evil dead 2 dagger in this?
Jason's look,I always dug zombiefied Jason and the ripped clothes.
The ending...Freddy's gloves coming up and pulling Jason's mask back down to Hell was definitely the best part of this movie

Overall:Definitely a bizarre entry into the F13th series and one that I normally group in the weaker installments(i.e ones I don't watch very often at all)Watch it for the gore and the ending or just watch the last scene and skip the rest of the movie

We have a real possession victim in our special features, the problem is people working on it will no longer touch the footage. I'm serious.

People will think it's a publicity stunt but we are actually having difficulty finding people who will finish the DVD. No one will risk it.

Halloween Horror Movie of the day:The Evil Dead

No review neccesary,cause if you are any kind of horror fan(Young or old)and you haven't seen this than just ....go make time and watch this...over and over and over again,then slap yourself for having not seen it earlier.

The Evil dead,of course directed by Sam Raimi is definitely one of those movies you can watch over and over and over again...and never get tired of it.I can honestly say I watch it at least once and month.They definitely don't make them like this anymore,low budget meets high imagination is one of my favorite lines I read describing the Evil Dead,it just nails the whole aspect of Raimi's film.

Tree branches sexually assaulting a helpless young women,a pencil not only plunged into someones ankle but repeatdly gouged and swirled around while in there. The we have girlfriends turning into demons and tauting their boyfriends with nursery rhymes,not to mention a plethora of dismemberment's,all done with just the right amound of campiness and creepiness,balancing them perfectly.Raimi also of course used his homemade Steadicam for numerous point of view shots of the demonic force coming at us.

A cult classic that of course has 2 sequels or if you want 1 sequel and 1 remade ..with a bigger budget and both are of course fun but they really don't mix the scares and humor as well as the original did.The Evil dead just has that certain charm about it,no one expected it to become such a classic.

Quick Review:Night of the Demons(2009)

Where do I start?I guess I could start at the one good thing,the cast,it had some pretty faces for us guys...thats about the only positive I could say about it though
Cast includes:Shannon Elizabeth,Diora Baird(mmmm)Monica Keena and Bobbi(not a guy)Sue Luther and a out of shape tired looking Edward Furlong.

Plot:Slutty Angela(Shannon Elizabeth) is throwing a Halloween bash at the legendary Broussard Mansion(which is New Orleans" legendary haunted spot). So long as you have money you can get in and get drunk,and get high and fuck.Of course Havoc soon occurs as a group of seven is stranded in the mansion.Little do they know that there are some demons laying in the basement waiting to be reanimated by some dumb-asses.The demons soon start possessing them one by one and we learn that if they possess all seven of these people they can rule the world...really.The trick is the demons only have till dawn to make this happen.Can the group survive till dawn??

Nudity:For such as hot cast it's kind of a shame there isn't more nudity,not that its all I look for but when you assemble a cast of hotties like that we should get something other then a few brief shots.I was waiting for Bobbi Sue's Luthers breasts to pop out of the top the whole time,I think that held my attention more than the rest of the movie.

Gore:I guess I can give it away but Diora Bairds character gets killed by anal sex,yes you heard it right.She also magically jams lipstick into her nipple and pulls it out of her cooter,I kid you not.Other than that there isn't much to make note of,your average amount of gore.

Creepiness:None whatsover,I wasn't expecting to watch a serious horror movie,I knew it was somewhat campy but there was no tension whatsover and not even many cheap/jump scares.

Final Say:Not the worst remake I have ever seen but I do feel they could have pushed the envelope a little more,after all it was direct to dvd.I also found more than a few parts absolutely ridiculous.Worth a watch or rental but do not buy.

A film that actually lived up to its expectations

Review:Piranha(1978)Blu-ray

Piranha....it's no Jaws but guess what,that's a good thing.
The release of Jaws inspired summer blockbusters and the of course the influx of B movies to the mainstream.People thought Hell if a movie with such a simple premise as a killer shark devouring people can make millions why can't we do it.So it lead to many cheap rip offs,some so close to being rip-offs that theatres wouldn't even play them.But one did get released that kind of formed its own legacy and found its own fans...Roger Corman's production of Piranha,directed by Joe Dante.

Dante and company were well aware that Piranha's premise and life is indeed owed to Jaws.But despite that Dante crafted a very funny,campy and entertaining movie that has stayed popular through the years mainly because it never tries to take itself too seriously.Spielberg himself is a fan of this film which says something.Made Long before the days of cgi,the lengths they went to make the attacks seem authentic is a true testament all of them.Puppet Piranha's attached to sticks with triggers to open their mouths somehow still looks better than cgi would in todays world.It took a bunch of the crew to pull this off especially during the raft attack scene.Ive said it many times but I wish more filmmakers today would forget about cgi and do it the old fashioned way...with hard work.

The Plot-A group of Piranha are accidentally released into Lost River Lake by Maggie McKeown,who is on the search for two missing teenager, and by Paul Grogan.Soon however they find out that these are not your normal Piranha,they are genetically engineered Piranha with a taste for human flesh thanks to experiments from Dr Rober Hoak,who is now in a panic over what has been released.Thigs do from bad to worse as Grogan and company realize that these Piranha are in for a treat,since the river connects to a summer campground where Grogans own daughter is at and a newly opened riverside resort area.

Memorable Scenes:There a quite a few from the opening where 2 teenagers are attacked in a swimming pool to the raft attack scene.This is also somewhat no holds barred if you would as the Piranha even have a taste for little kiddies..awwwww.All the attacks are flat-out fun to watch as you seen flashes of the Piranha and their mouths opening,I also love the music played during the attack scenes.Kudos to Pino Dinnagio

Acting:For a movie as campy as this you would think the acting would be bad but it's actually quite good.Bradford Dillman as Grogan and Heather Menzies as Maggie lead the way.Both are likable and the two have some nice chemistry between them as well.Kevin McCarthy pulled off that mad Doctor type quite well.

Gore:You get a shot of chewed up feet, bit off cheek and a surfacing corpse with tons of red water also.

The Blu-ray
Picture-Definitely a treat,the lush greens along the riverbanks looks surprisingly clear and colorful and since most of the film is in the daytime there is also very little debis or grain present.People's faces are also quite detailed and looks fairly natural.The only bad thing I could say is some of underwater scenes are a bit less detailed but that's all right since its suppose to be somewhat murky under the water.

Great White Shark spotted in Florida waters

Being shark week I found it ironic.Anyways I've been told it's not the first time one has been spotted in Florida but its the first I heard of it.I always thought they preferred cooler waters and waters where there are seals and shit like that to eat.I don't know what it'll eat here,other smaller sharks and turtles maybe?I just went snorkeling the other time and though the actual chances of bring attacked by a shark,yet alone a great white shark are very slim its um making me think twice about going snorkeling again.I definitely don't want to come face to face with Jaws.Anyways it was Way up near Jacksonville where some fisherman thought they had something big,turns out it was somethig giant,they got some pics of it also. and experts are 90% sure its a great white...so to the great white I say why can't you go home!are you too good for your homeeee!!!???

Piranha 3-d=horror movie of the summer

Yes,this most definitely looks like a hell of a good time of carnage,blood,sex and nudity,the kind of summer movie where you can sit back and forget everything serious for an hour and a half.And the best part,I won't have to hypothesize if what I just saw was real or a dream!I for one expect this to be a hundred times better than The Final Destination which was last summers 3-d horror release.Another reason this can't go wrong.....KELLY BROOK!..In a bikini and NAKED!!!!!!

Quick Review:Black Water(2007)

The Open Water of fresh water?...nah,much better

Black Water came out on dvd around the same time as Dimension Extreme's Rogue which I already reviewed.Black Water like Rogue also features a salt water crocodile that has attacked a boat, and is based on true events like rogue,but the difference here is Black Water is a bit more realistic in that the croc footage they used was real,as directors David Nerlick and Andrew Traucki insisted no cgi be used,and the integration of the croc into some of the attack scenes is a treat, Black Water in my opinion was also much more suspenseful,grim and intense than Rogue. The budget was also way,way lower.20x lower actually!

The plot:Grace (Dianna Glen), her partner Adam (Andy Rodoreda) and her younger sister Lee (Maeve Dermody) take a holiday to Northern Australia, where they decide to go on a river tour,but unluckily for them they have missed the tour which leads to tour guide Jim taking them on a tour of the river with his own small motor boat.They drift into some mangroves and feel some bumps and then before you know it they are all in the water and the boat is capsized thanks to a croc attack..and Jim is no longer around.Grace and Adam make it to one of the hundred trees in the mangrove while Lee is left stranded on the top of the capsized boat, before she eventually makes it to the tree to join Grace and Adam.And thats pretty much where most of the film takes place as the three mull over all the options to somehow get out of this hopeless situation.Now i know this may sound boring to some people or sound like open water only with a croc but trust me,its not.Its much more exciting than Open Water and it may not have as much action scenes as Rogue and for people looking for an animal attack film that is all attacks and body limps flying,you need look elsewhere.Because here less is more as the tension is ratcheted up gradualy as directors David Nerlick and Andrew Traucki give us just enough glimpses of the croc to keep us interested and scared while giving us action at the perfect moments. And I assure there is action here,as eventually the three of them decide they must take their chances getting to the capsized boat and soon learn maybe the situation is hopeless afterall.This croc is a truly terrifying character that knows exactly what is going on at all times and has no intention of letting anyone out of his territory alive.Probably the best scene is when the croc comes at nightfall for its dinner meal,really creepY and effective. Oh and despite the effective cgi in Rogue,the real croc here just blows away Rogues,not even close.

The acting:The acting is fantastic as its pretty much just 3 characters the entire movie,and they all come across extremely likable and put out very real and believable performances.You felt for them all and at times put yourself into their shoes,what would do in their situation?who has the better idea?would you wat for help or takes your chances?All 3 were pretty much unknown and ended up doing better than many more mainstream and well known actors.

Gore:Not that much on display,we do see an ear floating in the water.

Closing: Black Water is really a treat to watch,its got great tension,good characters and enough scares and action sequences to keep most people interested.The fact that all this was done with such an ultra low budget makes it even more impressive,proving that you don;t over the top Acton,gore or cgi to make an truly realistic, appealing and scary animal attack film.

Quick Review:Rogue(2007)

Don't be fooled by the cheesy dvd cover or the fact that its dimension extreme

I definitely have a soft spot for animal attack films and even though most haven't been good I still always keep my hopes up.Rogue is not new,it came out in 2008 and Ive watched a few times and never got around to reviewing it.So here goes

Rogue is directed by Greg Mclean of Wolf Creek fame,one I never cared for that much.

The Plot:Pete played by Michael Vartan ( an American journalist on assignment in Australia's beautiful Northern territory) joins a tourist group led by Kate(the adorable Radha Mitchell) on a river tour of the Northern Territory,which of course is home to the worlds largest population of saltwater crocodiles.After seeing a flare Kate decides to take the tour and investigate only to end up victims themselves as they are attacked by a huge saltwater crocodile and left stranded on a tidal island which will be under-water by nightfall.

I know,its sounds like your typical lame animal attack scy-fy movie only its not,its much better.Mclean definitely did his homework and the less you see more scary it is approach works as he keeps the crocodile off-screen until about the 50 min mark.We see it in the dark,in shadows,underwater and so on but don't get a real good glimpse of its amazing size until the final confrontation.And I assure you it looks pretty impressive and intimidating,and Mclean even had a group of his people study the actual movements of real-life crocodiles so it would look more realistic since that is what he was aiming for.

I also dug that it wasn't just attack after attack after attack,he let the characters flesh themselves out and for us to get to know them and they all come across extremely likable and not like many horror films today where I just wished they would all get killed .Kate(Radha Mitchell) really feels for the situation she has put her group in and wants to do whatever she can to get them out of this. Pete(Vartan)isn't the outdoor type but you soon learn he is a lot smarter than he looks and he kind of takes on the calming influence for the group.The rest of the characters(which include a sick mother and her daughter and husband,a midlife couple with no kids,a manish-dykish looking lady,an odd but likable younger man with a expensive camera and a older man who has lost his wife some time ago)also did a fine job of staying together despite some hairy problems that befall them later on..I definitely felt scared for them,and Damn I would be freaking out if I was stranded on some island with a huge crocodile stalking me,Id shit myself

The film also was helped by its environment the Northern Territory looks absolutely beautiful and Mclean did some nice camera work showing this and showing the vast wildlife present there.I actually want to go there one day if I ever get the chance,though Im not so sure if Id take a river tour.

So with Rogue you get a pretty damn good and evenly paced crocodile film that packs a serious bite with some nice attacks,some damn scary scenes and some good characters.Definitely worth seeing if you have a soft stop for these type of films like me

so you know-this was based loosely on a true story of a crocodile in the northern territory which staked his claim to a certain part of the river
Sam Worthington(of Terminator Salvation,avatar and clash of the titans) has a nice part in the film before he got pretty well known

Quick Review:Ils(them)2006

Ils aka Them is another of the french wave of horror-thrillers to hit the states.This was already loosely remade here as the strangers,well very loosely.Ils is a very creepy,and stylistic horror flick that relies on tension and a simple idea of your house being invaded to scare you.It's done fairly well here.Also the opening scene is very creepy and really gets you ready for the ride you'll be on.

The plot:French couple Lucas (Michael Cohen) and Clementine (Olivia Bonamy) live in a big and secluded plantation style house far away from anyone or anything in Romania.We learn that Clementine is a French teacher and Lucas is some kind of writer.They seem to love living out in the middle of nowhere but it soon turns into quite a nightmare for them one night as they begin to hear strange noises later that night that echo through their big house.It seems something or someone has come for them.

The noises continue and we the viewer are left in the dark,we have no idea what it is that is invading their home,why they are doing or what they want.This really works well as we are left guessing,eventually we do get glimpses of what is attacking them as the attackers begin to get closer and closer to Clementine and Lucas,finally forcing them to retreat to the bathroom to hide out.Clementine makes her way to the attic via the bathroom and is stalked through there as the tension gets ramped up even higher as we know the attackers must be one step ahead of them.What I also liked is this tension is here through the rest of the film as eventually Clementine and Lucas are forced to retreat from the sanctuary of their own home and head for the dark and ominous woods in hope of escaping.It doesn't end there as the fast and aggressive pace doesn't let up and they are finally stalked to an underground sewer system where we finally see just what and who the assailants were.

I won't give much away about who the assailants were other than it was a bit of a letdown after such a tremendous 3/4 of the movie.It almost made the whole movie a bit less frightening but it does make you think about what is going on over there in poor European nations and this was supposedly based on a true story.

The acting. Lucas (Michael Cohen) and Clementine (Olivia Bonamy) both are easily likable and really do seem like a normal everyday couple.It was nice that they were more towards middle age and not your everyday ordinary stupid teenagers.Also interesting that they are pretty much the movie,nobody else really is of any relevance to talk about.

The Gore-Not much on display,just some minor blood shed but tons of suspense and tension which was better than gore.

Directed by: David Moreau and Xavier Palud who I hope to see more from as I really dug the premise and how something as simple as your home being invaded can scare the shit out of you.

Closing:A fast pace and creepy ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing until the end.Also sporting 2 likable leads that who for once you want to live and not die,ils keeps the tension high throughout is short 70 minute run time.Worth a view

Review:House of the Devil(Blu-ray)

My second review of this movie but this time I had the pleasure of seeing it on blu-ray and what a treat it was.The film itself is phenomenal and the blu-ray really adds to it despite some concerns I had about it maybe losing some of that 80s grainy retro look.

The film starts with this flashing across the screen .....During the 1980s, over 70% of American adults believed in the existence of abusive satanic cults. Another 30% rationalized the lack of evidence due to government cover ups...the following is based on true unexplained events.
With this and the fact that the film is called House of the devil we the viewer know something bad and ominous must be at work here.

Probably set time sometime in the 1980's we first meet college student Sam(the adorable Jocelin Donahue)who is in the midst of getting her first apartment.Like any other college student she is struggling with an annoying roomate and of course is strapped for the cash she needs for her new apartment.She sees an add on a billboard at her college for a job babysitting.Seeems easy enough right?And before long she is well on her way to the isolated Ulman mansion on the eve of the upcoming lunar eclipse for what she thinks is a painless and quick babysitting.And she soon does find out that her employers have some..well different plans for her.

So many things stand out about this film but the main one that I love the most would have to be the authentic 80's look of the film.Ti West really,really hit the nail on the head with the look,if you didn't know this film was made in 2009 and you started watchuing this you may very well believe that this is an 80s movie.Everything from the outfits,the feathered hair,the walkman,the old coca-cola cups,the old yellow rotary phone to even the yellow opening credits screams 80's.Even the house where Sam babysits is dipped in the 80s.The yellow-mustardy dull interior colors remind me of my grandpa and grandmas place.West really knew what he wanted and tracked down numerous items on ebay to make it that much more authentic.

Another great thing West does is he really takes his time building up his story.It's a slow-burn and It may not be for all,and for those looking for something more evildeady or something more filled with cheap scares,I suggest you look elsewhere.But to me West's simple character driven approach is a breath of fresh air,as we get to know Sam fairly well early on and get a real feel for her character. I also loved how he takes time letting the viewer soak in the atmosphere of the house via Sam as she explores it.And a large portion of the film is just that,"watching Sam in the house".West also gives subtle little hints that something may not be right without fully hitting you over the head with it.I've read numerous reviews saying its to slow but that's exactly what West wanted.That's the type of film he was aiming for.He wasn't going for cheap scares and glossy shots,instead trading those in for genuine dread and genuine fear as he places you in its characters shoes.You constantly ask yourself,"would I have done that?"And trust me the final half and hour is well worth the wait.

The acting here is superb as well.Newcomer Jocelin Donahue is brilliant as Sam,she's very likable and very easy on the eyes and perhaps a bit naive at times.Her friend Megan(Greta Gerwig) is also very good as the maybe little too loud and to sarcastic friend.And of course we have Tom Noonan as Mr Ulman,who really is creepy but in a way that's not too obvious,and Mary Woronov as the peculiar Mrs Ulman.And Dee Wallace as the landl;ady was a nice little touch.

The Blu-ray video quality I was a little concerned with how this might look on blu-ray considering this is a film that relishes in that murky-faded 80s look.But the blu-ray really keeps that look alive and well while adding nice details on close ups of people and objects.So blu-ray buyers don't be concerned with the huge amount of grain on display,that's suppose to be there and is part of the look that West wanted.So shoulds you buy the blu-ray or dvd?Definitely the blu-ray if you own a player or ps3,its only a few dollars more and the picture is better,more detailed and a more realistic of 80's horror movies

Fear thy Neighbor,that's the punchline.Which I guess I would if my neighbor started acting strange and wanted to kill me.
That's the plot of the crazies as a mysterious virus infects the population of small town Ogden Marsh turning the residents into "crazies"intent on killing one another,and which soon leads to the military showing up to of course make matters worse.This is of course the remake of George Romero's original The Crazies(shame on me but I'm yet to see that one).
Timothy Olyphant plays David Dutton,sheriff of the small Iowa town,Radha Mitchell plays his physician wife.Both of them really are on their game here,both really likable and very believable,which was something this movie needed to be taken seriously.

The film had a lot else going for it,the opening scene in which the alleged town drunk roams into the outfield of a minor league baseball game with gun in had is compelling and gets you interested right from the get-go. Another great element of this film was the feel of small town America,the movie really nailed that look and feel. The one sheriff,one deputy law enforcement,the town doctor and the fact that everyone seems to know each other and each others business also conveys that general feeling.The wide shots of characters walking through open fields of nothing really are breathtaking.

Then of course there is the military element,busing the residents to concentration like camps,separating kids from parents and family members from one another,gas mask wearing soldiers just gunning down helpless civilians including a mother and son and of course the fact that they won't give any insight as to what is happening.

I like the tone here as well,it was like there was a real sense of hopelessness ,each time they think they maybe found something positive to build on..boom their hopes are dashed.
There isn't a ton of gore on display but there is some nice scenes including a bad-ass knife kill and a kill with some kind of surgical instrument.

The movie is well paced,entertaining,smart and has a few really nice set pieces.There are of course the jump scares but there are also some real gripping moments of tension as characters are stalked by "the crazies". It's definitely a nice entry into the horror genre.

It was good to see a horror movie hit the theatres that wasn't a remake,re imagining or whatever the hell you want to call it.Splice trailers had me interested and it looked like it had a cool concept behind it as well.It ended up being a nice little flick which was unique and unlike anything I had ever seen before.

The plot:Genetic engineers and couple Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa(Sarah Polly) do what we would call splicing.They splice together DNA from different animals to create new hybrids.Next up for them...Human DNA or so they think.The pharmaceutical company that funds their research basically tells them don't do it,they won't allow it.So what do Clive and Elsa do..they secretly conduct their own experiments and end up creating a weird,amazing and yet somewhat human creature they name Dren that shares some characteristics of humans and some of wild animals.However it soon starts to learn too much and grow way too much and Clive and Elsa are forced to deal with their very own nightmarish creation.

It's almost tough to call this horror,not a lot of gore or kills,it's almost more sci-fi drama than anything and I don't mean that in a bad away as the movie was very well character driven and well acted.It has some great undertones that deal with family,beastality,rape and inbreeding,all of that is really what made this film unique.I had no idea it would be dealing with deeper stuff like that.In fact I really think the message of this film was that we Humans are the true monsters and we usually don't know how to deal with our own consequences.That's all I will say without giving too much away.

Dren was really a sight to see,eventually growing into a humam-like girl,though with a much bigger head and with eyes way further apart.And a spiked tail.Dren in the later stages was played by Delphine Chaneac who does a fine job.Great creature effects at display here courtesy of Howard Berger.

The acting is solid here as well.Adrien Brody does a fine job despite his odd-looking nose that I can never not look at.Sarah Polly also is great as Elsa who is much more obsessed with their creation and also has some painful childhood memories that come to a head later in the film.

The film is shocking at times,creepy at times and even hilarious at one point.It is nowhere near perfect and is a bit slow at times but it still was refreshing to see a new and original idea.

Quick Review:The Hills Run Red

The Hills Run Red is another one of those direct to tv dvds that are so many times hit or miss. This one for the most part is a hit if you just want to enjoy a small little slasher film with a low budget.Add to that some nice gore,a nice plot and a pretty unique looking killer and I think you have the recipe for some success.

The Plot:Tyler(Tad Hilgenbrink) is a film student and horror movie buff who has become obsessed with discovering a legendary lost missing horror movie directed by Wilson Wyler Concannon(titled the Hills run red as well) that maybe was just to disturbing to ever be shown on the big screens.Concannon put all he had into this film to create the most realistic and sadistic horror movie ever.Along with him for the ride are his girlfriend/sound recorder Serena and his best friend Lalo/cameraman. The only lead he has on finding this said movie is the director Concannons daughter,who is a down and out stripper addicted to drugs.She was played by the lovely Sophie Monk who is not afraid to show herself.After Tyler helps her and rescues her from drugs she decides to help him and his friends finding the movie and agrees to take them to all the locations that the lost film was shot at.Once there the friends come face to face with legendary Babyface,the killer of the hills run red.

Part of what makes this movie work is the twists that follow as the friends document their adventures on camera.I won't give too much away but lets just say it involves some deception and some family values. Another part I enjoyed was the fact that the one character Lalo pretty much says what we all have been saying inside for multiple slasher films.To sum it up he says"Stay in the city and don't go to outskirts cause someone is always there waiting to off you."It kind of makes fun of the horror genre while also satisfying it. There is definitely some nice gore on display here,including one scene involving a tree that almost paid homage to the F13th films.

The killer who is aptly named babyface is also something I dug.His look was somewhat unique as he sports a cracked porcelain mask and a necklace of baby blocks and baby rattles.He is quick and doesn't hold back on any of his victims.I did however wish that we saw more of him and more of him in action.However sometimes less is more.

The acting is pretty solid as I really couldn't complain about anyone.They were all pretty believable and I also loved seeing Sophie Monk topless.The best performance in this movie was turned in by William Sadler who played Concannon.He added some credibility to the cast and stole most of the scenes he was in despite not appearing until the end part of the film.

I think this film is a nice little tribute to some of the low-budget 80's slashers that adds a fresh take on the basic teens go to woods get killed formula.It's entertaining,pretty intelligent and has some nice scares and chills as well.I would rather watch something like this any day of the week over a nigthmare on elm street/friday the 13th remake.

Shut up or die is the tagline. After seeing the movie it's definitely a good choice of words.I heard about this movie from various bloggers and sites and finally got a chance to view this.It's a very interesting and yet bizzarre movie but well made.

This movie is based on the book Pontypool changes everything by Tony Burgess.
The plot:DJ Grant Mazzy(a shock-jock radio host on the downside of his career) is on his way to work in the small Ontario town of Pontypool when a strange occurrence happens as he's stopped in his car.A women bangs on his window shouting indistinctly only to roam away before help.Little does Mazzy know that this is only the beginning of a number of totally strange and unbelievable events most notable reports from chopper man Ken who has witnessed some kind of violent outbreak by residents of this small town.Apparently these residents are murdering one another and speaking in strange and erratic speech patterns.Mazzy and his small crew,radio producer Sydney Bryar and technician Laurel Ann Drummond have a hard time believing what is happening and go as far as even thinking its some kind of hoax until the horde of crazed residents reaches their radio station.

The movie itself seems to be falsely identified by some as a zombie movie,while this is somewhat true ,this movie is definitely more of a surreal,mind bender flick that is more scifi than horror.Because we soon learn that people the virus is the English language and is being spread through certain words of endearment. Director Bruce McDonald was really able to craft a chilling atmosphere,that being Mazzy and his crew trapped inside this old radio station as more and more reports of mayhem come in..McDonald did a great job hinting of something going terrible wrong outside without hitting us over the head with it.Kudos also to Mazzy(Stpehen McHattie) and Sydney(Lisa Houle) who's reactions to some of these events keep the tension high and keep the story believable.

Later on a doctor arrives at the radio station and gives Mazzy and Sydney come clarification on what is going on.Once they find out it is the English language that is the virus they are forced to write and even speak in French in order to communicate and not become infected.There are several strange scenes where it appears Mazzy is infected only to snap out of it and another scene where Mazzy seems to come up with some pattern of random words that snap Sydney out of it.That was where I got the bizzarre idea from.

The fact that this film relies on a real intriguing premise IS definitely a breath of fresh air.I did feel it missed out a little though,it could have further explained the hows and whys and it wouldn't have hurt to show a little more of the chaos happening outside the station.But supposedly this is part of a trilogy and if that's true I would definitely like to see the next installment of this saga.

Not to be confused with Paranormal Activity which is what this film was rounded after.Of course they claim this all to be and based on true events when they flash this on screen before the movie starts

"Last fall, Thomas Finley was arrested for the rape and murder of his 19 year old sister, Samantha Finley. He was also charged with the murder of Edgar Lauren, a paranormal investigator. Thomas claimed the victims were attacked by a demonic entity of unknown origin. Shortly after, he committed suicide while in prison."

The Asylum who made this movie even try to convince us its real by having no credits rolled and no home screen on the dvd . I must say I definitely thought this was real.....REAL BORING!

The plot of course is somewhat similar to Paranormal Activity.Taking the advice of a Paranormal Expert, the Finley's are told to document any activity that takes place in their home,this of course is done by the son Thomas setting of video cameras all over the house,including his sisters room(who like the girlfriend in PA is a big breasted girl),his mothers room and the living room.

If you though Paranormal Activity was boring you ain't seen nothing yet.Here we are treated to the brother Thomas prancing around after him mom and sister filming them and generally annoying them and us at the same time.Almost every night is documented and we the viewer keep waiting for something to happen but nothing does.When they finally attempt to make something happen is comes across as more humorous than scary.One example of this is when the crucifix hanging above Samantha's bed falls during one of these documentations.We are then treated to a debate about how the crucifix fell and why it rolled into the corner,"square objects don't roll" we are told.Then another night in a scene to familiar of Paranormal Activity,we see the discovery of footprints on the ceiling.....oh wow...scary.
The most humorous part however is when Thomas decided to rig up tripwires with bells attached to warn him when the entity is prancing around...of course it works!

There is genuinely nothing scary about this film,it basically consists of screaming,crying and loud noises that are more irritating then scary. The acting like many of us would have suspected is so over the top its hard not to cringe.Oh and the entire climax happens off camera..brill ant.

In closing I don't think Paranormal Activity is a masterpiece,I think it was over hyped but it was made better and was definitely more entertaining and less annoying than Paranormal Entity.So when you see these two sitting next to each other at the video store...rent either Paranormal Activity or neither one.

Oh and as for it being real this flashes finally at the end

After Diary of the dead which I thought was average at the most and I thought maybe just maybe his next film would be an improvement,unfortunately it was not.It was actually much less enjoyable and something I will probably never watch again.

Survival of the dead is about 2 feuding families on Plum Island,the Muldoon family and the O'Flynn family who differ on what to do with the dead.One family wants to educate them if you will and the other wants to exterminate them.They are soon joined by a group of soldiers and a teenage boy who hear about this through a YouTube video.(rolls eyes:once again I hate movies that involve YouTube,seems so in your face all the time).Of course the soldiers soon pick a side and you get your feud.But besides that he bulk of this movie consists of the Muldoons and O'flynns complaining about one another.There is no tension whatsoever in this movie,the gore is there,though a bit to cgish at times but I thought there should be some scares,after all this is a horror movie,right?Instead characters walk around completely unfazed,unscared and or even effected much by the dead.

So much that I disliked about this movie had to do with the characters and the story,not one character was remotely likable and they all come off like whiny,obnoxious assholes.They were all under developed,shallow and I doubt anyone watching really cared what happened to them either.The teenage boy had to be the worst out of all them.Partick O'Flynn also was quite annoying at times and I just wanted his character to die.As for the storyline,how do you expect a viewer to give a shit about some absurd family feud,I know I sure as hell didn't.Besides it seems pretty simple,wouldn't you want your loved ones to rest in peace rather than be chained to a leash as a mindless deadhead.Then you add in the retarded twin subplot and it becomes more ridiculous.

Other little things also made me scratch my head,the main one being how is there still electricity,Internet and even television weeks into this dead-rising.How is it that nobody else has bothered to check if the Ferry was usable?or if it had gas?or if it had zombies on it?How is it that a zombie can somehow now ride a horse?

For a zombie movie I think this had the least amount of zombies as any other Romero film.I understand that Romero is trying to show us the we the people are the real threat but he went way too overboard trying to force-feed this down our mouths.

This is what Romero is today I guess,I mean I can't get on the guy too much,he did pretty much invent the zombie genre but that doesn't mean I have to automatically like everything he puts out.This to me is Romero at his laziest and I definitely rank this at the bottom of his deads along with diary though diary is a little more enjoyable than this.

Not to be confused with the dead girl which featured the late Brittany Murphy.Quite frankly this is a tough one to review,it's a very sick and disturbing movie.It's pretty much a movie about out of control adolescents and how far they'd go to "get some" if you would.

Two socially out casted teenage boys,JT and Rickie are bored and one day after school they decide to go to an old building which was some sort of mental hospital,and destroy it.After a few beers they venture downstairs into a boileroom and find a naked unconscious girl strapped down to a table.Apparently she is dead,or not. The one boy JT decides hey this a dead helpless woman,lets fuck her.Sure, why not?I mean what would you do in a situation like that.Turns out though she is dead but not really dead,she is some sort of a zombie I guess,able to take multiple beatings,stabbings and rapes and still be...not dead.Of course the one teenager Rickie starts to feel somewhat guilty while JT has decided to make this deadgirl his personal sex slave.Without giving too much away the third act is really interesting,features some deadly confrontations and the ending is also somewhat of a shocker.

I always try to put myself in the characters head and I did in this one as well.I asked myself "If I was in high-school and came upon this situation what would I have done".I can tell you one thing I was no goody two shoes but fucking a deadgirl wouldn't have been at the top of my list but I guess there are adolescents that would do this in today's sick world and thats what this movie shows us.The film is well written and for a horror movie it's incredibly grim,sadistic and non-forgiving.It's not for everyone to watch but it's definitely a somewhat original idea and a sort of interesting take in the zombie genre if you can categorize it that way.

A Nightmare on elm street 2010 review:watch the original

Pretty much that simple.Most reviews up already are similar to how I feel so it's no sense really going over too much.I took nothing away at all from Samuel Bayer's and PDs A Nightmare on Elm Street.Some thoughts

-Rooney Mara as Nancy was just dull and boring,and worst of all she didn't appear to be that scared of Freddy,in the original Heather Langenkamp did such an amazing job portraying that fear,you almost felt as if you were there with her in the dreams.I did not get a feel at all for Rooney Mara,way to emotionless. All she did was mope around and try to be an outcast and all emo.

-Kris who really was Tina from the original played by Katie Cassidy was very good.She portrayed that sense of fear missing from Rooney and I really felt more drawn to her character and for some reason the first 1/4 of the film seemed to focus on her instead of Nancy.They should have kept going in that direction,it would have been at the least a nice curveball thrown at the audience.And Spoiler,Kris' death which of course was the classic getting dragged across the ceiling death from the original came off almost laughable and was way too quick to leave any impact what-so-ever.And the way she fell in a perfect glammed up pose didn't sit well with me at all.

-the video diary scene also came across funny rather than scary,everytime I see a youtube or blog video featured in a horror movie I cringe

-the biggest laugh I got was the superman moment where Jackie as Freddy rips off his jacket to show his red and green sweater underneath

-Jackie Earle Haley I didn't care for much.Maybe it was the crappy script or the way he talked but I did not find him creepy in the slightest.He tried to come across and funny in one part and scary in another part,almost as if they couldn't make up their mind what direction they wanted to go in.Also the more and more I watched the more and more I didn't care for the look of Freddy.The makeup almost came across like they tried to make him too realistic and as Becky from the horror effect says "looks like a Ninja Turtle covered in pizza".

-relied way too much on cheap jump scares,there was no buildup or sense or foreboding danger which the original oozed with

-the bathtub scene was awful and the closing scene was done for no other reason then to pay homage to the original.It made no sense in context with the rest of the film.

-the only good thing I could say about this besides the performance of Katie Cassidy was the cinemotography,the movie did look slick though almost too slick

Horrible effort and I'm not sure if this was worse than PD's Friday the 13th

Quick Review:The Descent 2

Not sure what to even say about this mess of a film.Pretty much everything done here was done better in Neil Marshall's The Descent.
For starters: The whole idea to get Sarah back into the cave was laughable at best,tell me what cop in this world would take a recently traumatized and beaten up girl back down to the caves she just escaped from??No cop would .So right from the start is just didn't sit well with me.
But it gets worse. We are introduced to a bunch of boring and uninteresting characters(worst one being the macho cop/sheriff) who we don't care about since all director Jon Harris cared about was trying to show more of the crawlers and less of the suspense and build up the first one boasted. Also while we are on the subject,the acting was quite bad and some of the dialogue was painfully unbelievable. Not to mention that the dark,unsettling feel of the first is not present here.Instead its actually light in the caves,yes even though you are thousands of feet underground...its light.

Another thing that really pissed me off was that this didn't even feel like a sequel,it felt more like a remake.Every scene here was done better in the original.We have the discovery for all the animal bones done here less effectively,we have the characters getting trapped when the cave gives in..done better in the first,we have the characters discovering the crawlers use sound to hunt when a walkie-talkie starts going off,we have the Sarah and another character plunged into a dark river...get where I'm going.Why bother making a sequel if you are going to use the same exact scenes with different characters??Try coming up with something new and inventive for a change.

Not enough good stuff to even mention.The gore was there was I guess you could say was good,there was a surprise appearance about midway through that helped me from falling asleep.I think if you Saw the first you can guess who or what it is.And the ending,talk about a cheap sell out ending.Pretty lame.

Final Say: I guess I had expectations and little to high for a direct to dvd sequel.I thought this would be able to have somewhat of a similar feel to the first.Instead it got nothing right from the original.Skip this and stick to the original

Hellraiser...By far one of the most unique and original horror movies ever.Simply put there is nothing like it and there will probably never be anything like it again.No need to go completely over the story,cause if any so-called horror fan hasn't seen this,then shame on them.But I will offer some of my thoughts on this masterpiece from Clive Barker.

I know that certain younger and not so knowledgeable horror fans think Hellraiser and right away think that Pinhead was the main part of the story.What they don't know is that when Barker and company created this they somehow never foresaw how the "lead cenobite" would become so talked about and so popular.One of the reasons the lead Cenobite ie Pinhead worked so well in the first 2 is because he doesn't command much screen time to be effective and memorable.His unique look and few words of wisdom are classic and that voice remains engraved in your brain long after viewing.But what really made Hellraiser such a good movie was that is was basically a family drama with love,lust,betrayal and murder along with elements of the supernatural.You had the wicked and cold hearted Julia who is so unhappy in her marriage that she'll literally do anything to get out of it,you have Larry,the obedient,clueless husband and then of course Frank,the selfish brother whom with Julia has had an affair with and fallen for.And of course Kirsty,Larry's loving daughter who knows something isn't right with Julia.And of course we have demons,puzzle boxes,monsters and chains!

The real villains in this are of course Julia and Frank.Julia is so immensely unhappy in her marriage that she clings to the memories of her affair with Frank and at one point even ignores Kirsty so she could remember without being interrupted.And the ultimate sacrifice ends up when she agrees to "feed" Frank victims, basically by whacking guys who think they have a chance with her after meeting her somewhere over the head with a hammer,all so Frank can become whole again.That's some messed up shit right there and those scenes to me are the most disturbed ones in the film.The two of them are just so damn evil and definitely more evil then the cenobites.

Ahh the cenobites,they come for you when you open the box and like Pinhead says "Demons to some,angels to others".The unique look of these cenobites is just another amazing part of this film.Butterball,Chatterer,the female cenobite(who I think was never named)and of course Pinhead all are horrifically magnificent.The thing that really stands out from other horror movies,most notably ANOES,Halloween and F13 is these cenobites aren't going to hunt you down unless you open the box and they aren't really even that evil,their goal is to give people new looks and experiences of pleasure and pain.Basically a can worms,if you open it,you gotta deal with it.

The score of this film is done brilliantly by Christopher Young.So many standouts in this film but this might be the main ingredient that makes so many scenes effective.The best use of this is the scene where Frank comes up from the floorboard,it's actually a waltz.

The gore in this film is another standout star.Hook's and chains tearing your flesh slowing apart is quite disturbing to watch.Imagine a hook going into your skin,pretty painful,now imagine that hook slowly pulling and tearing apart your flesh...ouch.One of the final scenes which features a person getting torn apart completely by these hooks is so well done and looks so realistic you can only shake your head in amazement.

Hellraiser when all said and done is a battle between Kirsty,Julia and her Uncle,the cenobites are merely there to enhance this family tragedy.

The Picture:Once again,like ANOES,this is the best Hellraiser has ever looked.The picture overall is much sharper and the detail is amazing.Just look at all the bloody body parts hanging on the chains to see what I mean.There also isn't a lot of grain in the darker scenes and speaking of the darker scenes,the blacks and dark blues of this film seem much deeper as well.

I don't need to review the actual movie itself,cause I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother has seen this,though judging from today's youth...I may be wrong.I can see it now already, when I see A Nightmare on Elm Street(2010)there is going to be some young douche bags who don't know a thing about horror saying the original was lame.I will say a few things about A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Anyways ANOES and Freddy have always been the scariest of the big three(Freddy,Jason,Michael Myers) to me.In particular the first one, it is chilling.The music,the Freddy's coming for you nursery rhyme,the boiler room,Freddy's laugh,Freddy coming through the wall,Tina being dragged through the school in a bag.So many grisly images.Another thing that always made Freddy scarier to me was that he's not the silent stalker type,he will laugh,talk,mess with you and have a good time while he's trying to kill you.Perfect example is when he is chasing Tina and he stops and say's "watch this" and cuts off his own fingers.He has more fun killing than any of the others.The other part that really stands out to me is the fact that he can kill you in your sleep,I was genuinely afraid to go to sleep after I saw this when I was young,I would keep my light on for as long as I could,and just lay there hoping not to fall asleep.And Wes Craven actually got the idea of people dying in their sleep from actual articles based on true stories.For its time ANOES is quite graphic and the blood flows, and flows,and flows....in massive amounts.I'm surprised it was able to get past the MPAA.Sure some of the effects are now a bit dated but that only adds to this and makes it feel even more retro.The acting is quite good also,Englund is superb as the diabolical Fred Kreuger and Heather Langenkamp is convincing and quite likable.Of course Johnny Depp got his start in this movie.John Saxon also gets a notable mention.

The Picture:Easily this is the best ANOES has ever looked.It's pretty amazing what they can do nowadays with some of the older 80s movies.The clarity for this film is amazing considering its about 25 yrs old now.The picture is crisp and sharp and you can see some details you have never noticed before(particularly Freddy's rusted beat up glove and sweat beads on characters faces).The colors are vibrant but not overly bright where it takes away from the picture.The only complaint is that there is some grain in some of the night time scenes.

Scream 2(the beginning)

I fucking loved the original Scream,it is by far one of my favorite horror movies and slashers ever despite the fact that it made way for a bunch of copycats.I can't think of one bad thing to say about it,and when I first saw Scream 2 I was a little letdown.It it still a good film and a decent sequel but after watching it again recently there is one part I just wish they would have left out or changed,and that is the opening scene in the theatre at the premiere of Stab.

For starters,I know its horror and its not suppose to be that realistic but movie goers dressed up in the ghostface attire and pretending to hack up their friends and acting like rahtards while watching Stab was just so lame and corny.And then of course it gets even worse when Jada Pinkett is stabbed and killed in front of all these idiots and not one person found it odd?they all thought it was a publicity stunt....come on now!(you couldn't come up with a better opening kill than this)..if any normal person saw something like this happen today I think we'd find it a little odd and maybe do something.

I think it could have been 100 times better had they left out the fools dressed up as ghostface and instead had the murder occur out in the hallway or somewhere else in the theatre.Or maybe outside the theatre or on the way home.At least Omar Epps death was more believable than Jada's.

That being said the rest of the film was pretty entertaining,a decent sequel and in fact its the last Scream movie I count.Scream 3 doesn't count.

Quick Review:Urban Legends:Final cut

Joey Lawrence is in the cast,that should have been enough said right there.Not to say this was the worst movie I ever saw but it was nowhere near the original Urban Legend which had some originality and was somewhat fun to watch.

This was shifts to a new location from Pendleton University to Alpine University Film School where student filmakers must create original film to graduate and to compete for the Hitchcock Award.Amie Mayfield(Jennifer Morrison) comes up with the idea to make a film based on a killer who muders people using Urban Legends.Of course soon after she starts filming,a killer starts hacking up the crew of students helping her on the movie.Amie is left to try and piece together who may be the culprit and to also save herself.There are a bunch of red herrings early on,some probably would have made more sense than final reveal of the killer.The film itself I think like many other scream inspired slashers tries to hard to be funny and ultimately almost becomes a parody...ala Scary movie.In fact there was really only one scene that I dug and thought was suspenseful.Most of the characters are also dull and underdeveloped and we never really care for them,whereas in the original most were likable in their own ways.Another thing I didn't care for was the fact that they didn't tie anything together from the original and what went on at Pendleton.It offers no resolution and no insight into the killer from the original and leaves us scratching our heads.

Acting:The acting wasn't that bad,Amy(Jennifer Morrison) was good,she was pretty believable and shows a good range of emotions.Graham(Joey Lawrence)sucked and was just an annoying brat on his cellphone for most of the movie.A young Eva Mendes who played Vanessa,a lesbian sound girl was wasted and not given much to work with.There was also Stan and Dirk(Anthony Anderson and Michael Bacall),two special effect geeks who come across way to annoying to be likable. Reese(Loretta Devine) from the original has a few parts and does a decent job.

Gore:Not much to write about but it did have a decent decapitation scene

Rewatchabilty:4,save yourself and watch the original Urban Legend

Closing:Urban Legends:Final Cut had all the pieces in place to be a decent sequel but director John Ottman never took advantage of it a we get a run of the mill,below average slasher.One of worst parts of this is the killer,lame..lame and lame.There is a little surprise if you can make it and watch some of the closing credits.

Quick Review:Urban Legend

This comes in the wave of all the Scream rip-offs,clones and what not but it's still pretty enjoyable.It's got a good,hip cast,a cool setting,has some interesting death scenes and a premise I really dug.A killer using Urban Legends to kill off students is right up my alley.
The Plot:It's fall semester at Pendleton University where according to an Urban Legend,a massacre occurred long ago.Supposedly a professor went crazy and wiped out a whole dormitory.Paul(Jared Leto) insists the story is fake but Parker(Michael Rosembaum) disagrees.The students are exposed to more urban Legends in their American Folklore class where Professor Wexler(Robert Englund) reveals the truth behind some of the more common Urban Legends.Soon after word spreads on campus that a student has been murdered and the students,in particular Natalie(ALicia Witt) believe a serial killer is loose on campus and is making these Urban Legends reality.For some reason Natalie is right in the center of all this.

Of course the film soon turns into a whodunit ,where at certain points we believe it could be one of a few candidates.Sad for me to say that I didn't see the twist coming and I was wrong about the killer.It was nowhere near as intelligent a film as Scream was but still it was fun.The film has quite a few cool scenes,the opening scene which tackles the urban Legend to always check your backseat before driving is done really well and gets you jumping a few times ,it also features a cameo from chuck himself...Brad Douriff.Another part I always got a kick out of is when Damon(Joshua Jackson of Dawsons creek fame) is taking Natalie out and his car won't start..it finally does and Paula Coles theme song from Dawsons Creek "I don't wanna wait" blasts on the radio for a second.Adding more excitement is Freddy Kreuger himself as Professor Wexler.While not on screen that much Englund is stellar as a professor who may be a bit to much into these urban legends.I also really enjoyed the aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights urban legend segment.

Acting:The acting was average at best and despite having many teens I thought most were able to come across somewhat likable. Also it had so many notables that I was able enjoy seeing some of these names before they made it somewhat big.Alicia Witt(what happened to her?)Rebecca Gayheart(Noxzema girl) is beautiful,Danielle Harris of Halloween fame playing the super bitchy goth is a trip.We also have Jared Leto(now lead singer of 30 seconds to mars)Tara Reid(pre-messed up surgeries),Brad Douriff,Michael Rosenbaum(Smallville) and Joshua Jackson(Dawsons Creek).Also Loretta Devine and John Neville.

Gore:Most of the gore happened off screen and despite that it really didn't take away anything from the film.

Rewatchablity: 7...Every once and a while when I feel like popping a 90s styled teen slasher besides Scream,this is the one I go for.

Closing:It was a cool concept that was done fairly well,managing to keep a decent level of tension throughout despite a few shortcomings in character development.It's still a fun watch.

A blast from the past indeed as I finally got around to getting the dvd of this.House quite simply put is one of those cheesy 80s movies that people seemed to forget about except its quite good.It plays the horror-comedy genre to a tee.

The Plot:William Katt stars as Roger Cobb,a somewhat down and out horror author who is having quite the few problems to write home about.His beautiful actress wife has left him,his only son has dissappeared and his aunt that helped raise him has hung herself in an apparent suicide.Cobb soon after moves into his Aunts house to write his next novel which will be telling about his experience in Vietnam.He starts seeing monsters,weapons and other dimensions as his inner demons try to conquer him.

The movie is a blast to watch a nice break once again from todays cgi heavy monsters.The creatures in this film are damn impressive for its time,they look real but almost come across in a caroonish way.There is enough humor and just enough scares to keep any horror-comedy fan entertained.The first time Roger opened that closet really had me jump as well as the first time we come into contact with the fat-bitch monster.Real cool scenes!The house is quite creepy and I for one wouldn't want to live in that house alone.We also get an undead soldier running rampant as Roger becomes more and more convinced that the house it to blame for all of his problems including the dissappearance of his son.

Acting:Top Notch performance from William Katt who does well with the troubled writer stoyline but also adds some nice touches of humor.George Wendt of cheers fame also does well as Rogers somewhat annoying neighbor Harold.

Gore:Not much gore but enough which was a nice change of pace from some of heavy 80s gore.

Soundtrack:Some great songs here,including the shirelles and a great chilling score by Harry Manfredeni

It was Directed by Steve Miner of F13th fame and written by Ethan Wiley with some credit to Fred Dekker

Cool creatures,more than enough laughs,a creepy house and a chilling score,what more could you want from a 80s B movie.DING DONG,YOU'RE DEAD

Tony Todd,Bill Moseley,seeing that they were in this was the only reason I decided to purchase the Graves.I thought maybe with 2 superb actors and a decent story would make this worth it.I was wrong...dead wrong.The film is unimaginitve,dull,cliche,poorly executed and boring and not to mention has two really annoying lead characters.

The Plot: Two sisters,Abby and Megan Graves from Scottsdale Az,(snottsdale) are on a roadtrip to New York,where older sister Megan just landed a big-time job. Driving through Arizona they hope to stop and see the worlds largest thermometer.(Yes,I'm serious)Of course they get lost and stop and a local diner,see a weird Reverend(Tony Todd)and get directions to Skull City Mine which the waitress insists is a local landmark and will give the 2 girls some good thrills.Soon after arriving at Skull City Mine's the girls see it is more then they bargained for as they witness a muder at the hands of Jonah(a murderous Blacksmith) who seems to be under the control of the Reverend.The Reverend Abraham it seems convinced the town and whoever listens that their god demands sacrfices...so of course the 2 sisters are soon being hunted.

And man was it poorly executed. The said Blacksmith is killed easily by the one sister(I guess a big menacing man carrying a weapon is no match for a smart woman) and then swarmed by bees who it seems steal his soul(at least thats my guess what happened).Caleb(Bill Moseley) soons shows up as the sisters think he will help them but of course and like we all could have predicted,he's in on it and is the Blacksmith's brother.He is eventually killed,as once again it appears these 2 sisters are deadly assasins or something,I've never seen 2 killers killed so easily.At one point in time Abby is all of a sudden laying on the ground,we have no idea what happened to her ,at another point in time the other sister Megan survives a stab to the heart.So now not only are the two sisters assasins but they are also able to withstand stabs to the heart.

I won't give the ending away if any people actually want to see this but I'll say its just as bad as the rest of this movie even with Tony Todd.

Acting:Horrible acting by the 2 sisters(Clare Grant as Megan and Jillian Murray as Abby) though I thought Abby was quite the cutie.Maybe the writing had to do with the bad,unbelievable acting,who knows.Bill Moseley was decent,he's always able to make it at least somewhat interesting.Tony Todd does what he can though even he couldn't save this.

Gore:Not much and most happens off-screen.

The film reminded of a really bad version of Wrong Turn with religious overtures. It really has nothing going for it at all.Definitely don't waste your time on this.Watch Dread instead.

After-Dark Horrofest 4:Dread Review

This one of course was one of the one's that caught my eye mainly because it was written and produced by Clive Barker.Of course the Midnight Meat Train also caught by eye because of Barker and that one to me was forgettable.Is Dread any better than Midnight Meat Train?Quite Simply,Yes,much better and much more realisic,disturbing and intelligent.

The Plot: Stephen Grace is a quiet,boring an somewhat independent college student who is majoring in film.Stephen meets the charismatic,charming and much more outgoing Quaid who Stephen is somewhat drawn too in an almost homophobic way.Not long after meeting,Quaid comes up with an idea for Stephens thesis film:A documentary on the study of fear.With the help of his film editor Cheryl from class,the three set out to document people's deepest fears or dread if you will.

Not satisfied with what they are getting from their interviews,the three eventually turn the camera's on themselves and they finally get what they are looking for but at their own costs.Director Anthony Diblasi does a great job in creating mulitlayered and likable characters who actually aren't dumb and who almost act like real college students would.We feel for each of these characters as we learn about their horrific past.While Stephen and Cheryl are quick to tell about their past,Quaid isn't very interested in letting them in on his secret(his parents were slaughtered by an axe wielding madman right in front of him as a child).Quaid Finally does let Stephen in on this and we begin to see cracks in Quaid. It soon becomes obvious that Quaid is a bit off and lets say a bit unbalanced.He has terrible visions and horrible dreams of that fateful night his parents were murdered.By doing this study Quaid hopes to be able to overcome his weakness and face his beast by using other peoples fears.To Stephen and Cheryl this is just a school project,but for Quaid,it's much,much more.He eventually becomes lost in this quest for fear and soon forces others to relive their pasts in sick and disturbing ways.

Acting:Really good job by the whole cast.Stephen(played by Jasper in twlight..real name Jackson Rathbone) is an easy lead character to root for.He is smart and sensitive and not at all annoying despite being somewhat of an outcast. Strong pefromance by Laura Donnelly who I hadn't mentioned earlier,she plays Stephens good friend,who has a horrible birthmark on the side of her face.Donnelly nails is and comes across as a confident character instead of the pathetic,feel sorry for outcast.Kudos also to Quaid(Shaun Evans) who was brilliant as the charismatic but ultimately flawed antagonist.Whenever he is onscreen you are at edge because something deep down doesn't feel right with him and it feels like he can snap at any moment but still you are drawn to him,and want to know what is going on in his mind.

Gore:There is some nice gore in this and it looks realistic as well. Axe's get buried into people's head and chests and don't look chessy or fake at all. We also see a body torn-apart and mangled from the waist down. There is also quite a disturbing and maybe the most memorable scene involving rotting meat.

Closing:Barker and Diblasi have crafted a well made horror movie with psychological overtures.It is written well and paced just right.The examinations of the characters fears seem real and leave the viewer empathetic towards each of them,and for once there really is no clear cut "hero" or villain.This is by far one of the better and if not best film I have seen from the AfterDark Horrorfest after 4 yrs.Any Barker fan will enjoy this one,it definitely has his touch on this.

Quick Review:The Gate(1987)

A somewhat kid-themed horror movie that actually works well and has some creepy scenes and cool little monsters.This was always one of my favorites growing up and it holds up well for the most part.
The Plot: A couple of kids accidentally open a gate to the depths beyond and end up having to deal with demons and other sinister forces at work.
Glen and his best friend Terry suspect that the hole from the tree trunk removed from Glen's back yard harbors a gateway to another world.Terry has convinced Glen that a heavy metal band his dad was into knows the way to close this gate if you listen to their record backwards.Of course all doesn't go as planned.As the weekend approaches Glen's parents go out of the town and leave his older sister Al(Alexandra) to take care of her younger brother .Soon after Al has a party that gets weird as one of Al's friends convinces her she could perform a levitation..which leads to Glen being levitated and eventually running upstairs crying..LOL.Weirder things begin to happen during the night,Terry has visions of his dead mother,the family dog angus dies and Glen thinks his parents are home only to realize that they are not his parents at all as he squashes his father's face to mush.More strange,nightmarish things begin to happen later as we see the first appearance of the pint-sized demon looking Minions as they try to make their way into the house.We also gets a creature beneath the bed that tries to drag Al underneath with it and a dead house repair men that comes through the way and takes Terry with him.Finally we get a giant sized minion that bursts through the floor of the house as it comes face to face with Glen.
The creatures in this movie are quite cool looking,and it's not cgi or even stop motion fx.The creatures are actually people dressed up in costumes and shot in force perspective.It holds up quite well today where too many films rely heavily on fake looking cgi.
The movie itself has some pacing issues now that I really didn't pick up on when younger.Not a lot happens at all the first 45 minutes or so,for some reason I thought I remembered much more creature action and scares but what do I know,I was only 10 or so.
The acting is fairly decent.Glen played by a very young Stephen Dorff does a good job as the sometimes annoying little brother,Terry(Louis Tripp) was annoying at times especially when he was trying to rock out to a heavy metal record.Al(Christa Denton) is somewhat convincing as the older sister torn between her friends and her little brother.

Not much gore but we see an eye in the hand that gets stabbed,and a face get squashed.
The Gate is still a fun movie to watch.It brings you back in time to the old days when horror films were fun, over the top but still had that certain something that made it work.

Nolan is on for another Batman

Nolan says, "Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story. And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story . . . I’m very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we’ve done with the characters. My brother has come up with some pretty exciting stuff. Unlike the comics, these things don’t go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we’re telling. And it hearkens back to that priority of trying to find the reality in these fantastic stories. That’s what we do.” Nolan has also confirmed that Jonathan Nolan is writing the script and that the villain of the film “won't be Mr. Freeze.”

I am pumped to hear this,I think Nolan will bring everything to a perfect ending as he has masterfully fleshed out many of his characters.I can see Nolan having Gotham appear to be down and out only to overcome and get back to normal with the help of the dark knight of course.This will help Batman maybe hang up the cape for good as they have righted the ship.I am curious about a villain and my hunch is that it will be Riddler,I have no proof,just a gut feeling.I may be wrong.

I have noticed they have started to play some horror movies at random times,they had on scream 3 a while ago and Halloween Resurrection..and of course they made that My super pyscho sweet 16 movie that I shamfully watched...But if they want to play horror movies they should maybe play a decent one and not shitty ones that no respected horror fan would ever like. Gives youth today bad ideas of horror movies.Tonight they have on Dawn of the dead(remake) which is a little better but why are they playing horror movies anyways,aren't they suppose to play shitty music and stupid reality shows all day!

Quick Review:The Funhouse(1981)

Directed by Tobe Hooper,the Funhouse is a FUN little movie with a great setting , some good scares,and some believable acting. Much better than Eaten Alive.
The Plot:Amy has a date with Buzz and against her parents wishes goes to the local carnival with her friends Liz and Richie with Amy's annoying little brother Joey close behind.At the carnival they see deformed animals,deformed babies,a magic show and a weird looking dude with a Frankenstein mask on.They smoke joints,make out and then get the oh so brillant idea to spend the night inside the funhouse.After more making out they spy through the wood planked floor,the Frankenstein masked guy give money to the old/disgusting fortune-teller lady for sex.He can't control himself and gets pissed afterwards and chokes out the gypsy.Eventually his not to proud father finds out what happens and freaks out.In the meantime Richie gets his second brillant idea of the night..to steal the money left in the box.Of course things don't go as planned as the dad and franken-son soon find out they are missing money and that they have visitors in the funhouse,and Amy and company can't find a way out as they are stalked and chased through the confusing funhouse.
The funhouse itself was quite spooky with dummies and creatures jumping out at you left and right.Its dark in some spots and flashes neon lights in others,making you glad you aren't in there with them.The Frankenstein guy is eventually unmasked and lets just say he's quite a creepy looking creature.Loved the look of this...thing.Amy(Elizabeth Berridge) is a very likable character and also very cute(maybe I need to take a girl to a carnival to win her over),heck,even her boyfriend Buzz is somewhat likable.Not a very high body count or gore but it has just enough to keep one satisfied.
Side Note:The opening scene has hint of Halloween and Pyscho rolled into one.
The Funhouse is another one of those many 80s slashers that seemed to pop out and fade away into obscurity.But it's an entertaining little film with some great scenes,a nice atmosphere, a good score and a well done ending.It's Fun.

As Hillbilly Jordy Verrill in the lonesome death of Jordy Verrill from the Creepshow movie.King put on quite the hilarious performance,he looked so goofy and awkward I was laughing almost the entire time. Hillbilly,redneck,hick,retard all rolled in to one as he slowly turns to a gaint plant after touching a meteor that crashed to the earth.

Tarman from Return of the living dead,ok so he really isn't in the movie that much but he is by far one of the coolest characters ever and definitely one of the most unique looking zombies in any zombie film. Hard to even imagine that Tarman must have been human at one time.Looking liked he's been dipped in Tar and almost as if he's melting Tarman is definitely one you will not forget and definitely steals all the scenes he's in.

Tarman was petrified stored inside a trioxin container which was cracked when Frank hit the barrel.The crack releases the trioxin gas and the tarman was awakened and his skin melted from the gas.He spends most of time down in the basement as Frank and Freddy have no idea he came to life.Tina eventually goes to hide in the basement and see's Tarman who is hungry for "Brains""Live Brains",Tina hides in the locker and Tarman tries to open it with a winch...HILARIOUS!Eventually Suicide(another punk)and the other punks make their way down there and Suicide is killed by Tarman as he bites through to his brain,the others escape as Tarman screams "MORE BRAINS".We think Tarman meets his demise later on when his head is knocked off by Burt,though they never really show if he is really dead or whatnot.

Tarman was portrayed by Alan Trautman who did an amazing job.The way Tarman walks is very herkey,jerky,such eery movements it almost would seem like its computerized or something but it's not,its the skill of Alan Trautman.

I believe Tarman and this movie was the first that introduced us to the idea's of zombie's feasting not entirely on humans but just on their brains.For that we should all say thank you to this movie and to the Tarman himself.

Quik Review:Scarecrows

Kind of another lost horror film from the 80s that needs to be seen.Made in 1988 and finally re-released on dvd in 2007,this is definitely one of the best looking scarecrow movies there is.
Five criminals who have just committed robbery try to escape to Mexcio on a hi-jacked plane only to double-crossed by one of their own and end up stranded on a spooky cornfield filled with scarecrows,crosses and one creepy house as they search for their former pal that betrayed them.
The movie works so well in part because of the haunting,dark and ominous cornfield.That and the amazingly simple(low-budget) but downright scary scarecrow designs really gives one the creeps and proves you don't need cgi to make things look real or even scary.The film relies heavily on that dark,foreboding atmosphere created by director William Wesley and is somewhat of slow-burn as the characters slowly begin to realize the scarecrows are alive.Since its so dark you never get too much of a long look at the scarecrows in action and this to me makes it even scarier.Trust me though,the scarecrows are downright spooky.

The movie really starts to pick up when we get to see what these scarecrows do to you -they can mimick voices,make you delusional and worst of all-they gut you and fill you with straw.Finally the characters start thinking maybe they should get the F out of there and forget the money.The movie never really explains in full detail why the scarecrows can come alive but we get numerous shots of a framed-picture of 3 men hanging inside the house and a reference to how they might be devil worshippers.
The acting isn't that great in the movie but it's decent enough to not take away from the movie itsef.Jack played by Richard Vidan and Corbin(Ted Vernon) to me were the only likable characters in the film.Kellie played by Victoria Christian was nice to look at but quite whiney and annoying.
Scarecrows is definitely a strong horror/ghost film which also tries to show us that greed can be a deadly....especially with scarecrows running rampant.See this underappreciated movie now

Forgotten 80's gem:Of Unknown Origin

From 1983 and I believe this debuted on the old-old sci-fi channel,all I remember is watching this on VHS as a kid with my best friend and for some reason this movie always scared the crap out of me. I always thought there was a rat in my basement or under my bed and to this day and this is true I always put the toilet seat down when I'm done.
This stars Peter Weller as Bart Hughes, a successful NYC business man with a chance for a big promotion only to be sidetracked and eventually obsessed with a rat that has made Bart's NYC brownstone which he personally renovated himself his own personal playground as he chews through wires,shreds up pillows,Bart's work and anything else it can.With his wife and kid away visiting her parents Bart completely unravels and wages a one on one war with this rat.The rat constantly outsmarts Bart,doesn't fall for the traps and doesn't take the poison.The rat almost takes his private part off as he comes up from the toilet one night,slips into his bed,attacks Bart numerous times,including one time in the boiler room,kills his poor cat and makes Bart start to lose his mind.These attacks are all quite vicious and the way they are done really make the film quite scary.All this time Bart is completey distracted from work and coworkers begin to think something is off with him.Some other funny part include him talking with a neighborhood rat expert and my personal favorite at the business dinner when Bart starts randomly spewing out rat facts one after another(how Rats can eat through lead and concrete,how a rat can wriggle through a hole the size of a quarter and so on) Some of the shots in this movie are done really well,they never show too much of the rat itself,they show his slimey feet,his big teeth and its beedy eyes and also upon further viewing I discovered a few scenes where Bart is walking around and you see the rats tail slowly slide out of the picture.They also use POV shots from the rat itself which is a nice little touch.Being back in the 80's,they use real footage of a rat at different angles and what not,no cgi or anything.The photography in the brownstone is done amazingly well and the music itself is very eery and unsettling.The rat also has a terrifying shriek which is diplayed numerous times throughout the film. The conclusion of this film features Bart decked out in a helmet,with a flashlight attached to it,wielding homemade bat with nails and traps stuck to it,and wearing shinpads and cleats as he completey destroys his home in a battle against the rat.
What made this fim work so well besides the scares and photography was Weller's performance.He really nails it as a successful business man who becomes almost a completely different person.Weller is very quirky but likable and has a great knack at subtle humor(ex:"You never said anything about rubber gloves, you boneheaded fart,"Watch and weep, you furry fucker" and "Keep it up.Just keep it up. I've got friends in Jersey".He also was very believable and I even started to feel for this poor guy. The film also introduced us to Shannon Tweed,and man she was even more the looker back then,my jaw dropped seeing her so young and hot in this as compared to her later softcore days where she still looked good.
A modern day Moby Dick with bite!Is it horror?in my book it is,though it had humorous parts and lines it is still quite creepy and graphic.Better than Gnaw or the remake of Williard or even food of the gods,better need to check out this 80's gem.

Not much to say about Sorority Row,I barely made it through,and had more fun playing with my hangnail than watching this. I didn't have much hope for this by I held out a little hope that it would be somewhat entertaining,I was wrong,not even close to being entertaining.

The plot is a simple,a group of sorority sisters kills one of their own in a prank gone row,dump her body down the mineshaft amd decide to keep it a secret,kind of like I know what you did last summer.Of course we all know what happens next,as graduation approaches someone decides to start knocking all of the sisters off one by one.

The movie is not scary at all and doesn't have any but of tension whatsover,not to mention the fact that all of the girls are so annoying and unlikeable that you can't wait to see who gets offed next.The only somewhat likeable girl was Cassidy(played by the hot and sultry Brianna Evigan),she is the one girl who feels guilty and wants no part of what her sisters did.The dialogue is corny while trying to be funny and some of the choices the girls make are somewhat laughableThe killer was painfully obvious from the get-go if you followed any of the standard 90s slasher flicks.Another funny thing is the killers weapon,a pimped out tire-iron...yes I'm serious.After all those bad points what can one hope for...I say nudity,and we get some tits and ass but we really don't get much of that from any of the main girls and that is lame.

Sorority Row lacks suspense,tension,smarts,scares,likable characters,pretty much any ingredient you need for a successfull slasher flick.I say skip this and stick with the 90s slashers flicks and my guily pleasure..Urban Legend

A Nightmare on elm street..trailer 2

Another promising trailer for sure,I know,I know it's PD and Michael Bay behind it but I really do hope they pull of a good film here,Freddy has always been the scariest to me and from the looks of this he will be scary again.The dream sequences look solid(a few in particular have caught my eye such as the one at the opening of the trailer)and they are keeping some of the originals death scenes which I like cause those are just classic(I just hope they don't go to CGI heavy on them like this scene appears to be)

The gore looks like it will be there,now I just hope some of the characters unlike the F13th reboot are likable,plus I pleased to see Katie Cassidy in this,she's damn hot.And I believe Jackie Earl Haley will nail the role,though I'm sure for some people like myself it'll be hard not seeing Robert Englund as Freddie.Haley's voice sounds creepy.

During the 1980s, over 70% of American adults believed in the existence of abusive satanic cults. Another 30% rationalized the lack of evidence due to government cover ups...the following is based on true unexplained events. This is the first thing you see when you watch Ti West's House of the Devil and gets you in the mindset you need for this.Taking place sometime in 80's, this film really feels like it was made in the 80's.The HAIR!!outfits,settings,camera shots and even the music take you back 30 years in time.
College sophmore Samantha(the adorable Jocelin Donahue)desperate for money after getting a new apartment,takes what she thinks is an easy baby-sitting job at the isolated mansion of the Ulman family.

I have already heard people saying that this movie was too slow,boring and uneventful and I completely disagree with all of that.Ti West builds tension slowly but surely as he crafts a smart,scary and unnerving experience instead of relying on the shock scares we see too much of nowadays.The atmosphere and mood he creates here is a pleasure.

We meet the very creepy Ulman family,who right from the get-go don't seem right.Mr Ulman(Tom Noonan) is smooth talking and seems to be missing a screw somewhere,his wife Mrs Ulman is equally as strange but Sam is so desperate for money she is able to overlook this. We have numerous foreboding shots of the mansion,from the outside to the inside as Sam wonders through most of the rooms of this big,dark and eery house.Ti West with all these shots was able to make the house in itself a character which is brillant.We the viewer know something isn't right from the get- go but don't know what or when or where something bad will befall Sam. Since this takes place is the 80's there are no cellphones or facebook updates and this creates a brillant sense of isolation.We are KEPT on edge and unnerved for most of the time just waiting for shit to hit the fan,for Sam to feel the heat,And when it does it is well worth the wait with all the mood and atmosphere setting that prevously went on.West couldn't have crafted it much better than this,it takes talent to make a film like this.

Performances were also very good,newcomer Jocelin Donahue(Sam) was very likable,downright adorable and easy to root for.I hope we see more of her in the future.Tom Noonan(Mr Ulmsn) is wonderful,he demands attention the way he so smoothly talks.Mary Woronov plays Mrs Ulman and also does a good job of coming across as a creepy older lady.Small role also by Dee Wallace as the landland.

Ti West is definitely someone to keep an eye out for in the future.I dig his slowburn style and the fact that he relies more on atmosphere and mood.House of the devil definitely delivered and is a nice return to early's 80s classic horror

Put on quite a good performance in House of the Devil.I was intrigued by her so I went to look what else she has been in.The Burrowers along with a few small other roles.Googling her I found an interesting interview with her and about House of the devil...

The plot of this one is fairly simple,High school cheerleader Jennifer Check is turned into a flesh craving succubus by an emo-inspired satan worshipping band,leaving her best friend Needy(Amanda Seyfried)to deal with the consequences.

I watched this and then later found out that Diablo Cody had also directed Juno which I've only seen parts of.I didn't have may expectations for this one other than to google at Megan Fox but what I got was a pretty fun and entertaining horro(if you will)-comedy that reminded me of some bad 80s movies..in a good way.Megan Fox was born to play this role and is a treat for the eyes,and I actually think she fit in quite well with Cody's quirky dialogue.Although at times the dialogue got on my nerves for trying to be too cool(Example:Hey Monistat..whats up vagisil..you're lime green jello and you can't even admit it to yourself).I guess in the future we will see if Fox is capable of taking a more serious role to prove herself as something other than eye candy.Jennifer and Needy's relationship was interesting to watch also,the hottie and the nottie in a way.Needy always does what Jennifer wants her to do according to Chip(Needy's boyfriend).But it is Jennifer that is actually jealous of Needy,and even jealous of her relationship with chip.Seyfried(Needy) does a good job in this as well,I actually cared for her and even her boyfriend Chip.Both were very likable.Gorewise there were a few nice images(a split open corpse,intestine munching,bites,blood and a black bloodlike substance spewed out by Jennifer).

The soundtrack was quite good also,low shoulder's through the trees is quite catchy.

For anyone looking for a serious,thought out movie..skip Jennifers body..obviously.For people looking for a bloody,fun ,eye candy loaded and mindless 90 minutes with hottie Megan Fox strutting around...this is your film.It's too bad Megan's nude scene was cut..I think it really would have made some extra dough if that was included,but there at least a makeout scene between Megan and Amanda.
